Artemis Studio

Privacy

Are the images, videos and data inside Artemis and Artemis Studio secure and private?
All the images and videos you save into Artemis are secure and only visible to you, unless you share them. We cannot see anything you save with Artemis, unless you share it with us. Artemis uses the Apple security protocol, which is very robust.
Why am I being asked to grant permissions? What if I don't want to?
Without granting these permissions this will likely not perform properly.

Camera — Artemis needs access to the camera to show an image on the screen.

Microphone — when recording videos, access to the microphone is required. Disallowing this might cause issues playing back saved videos.

Photos — Artemis & Artemis Studio save images to a local data folder. We offer a back-up option to the Apple Photo app gallery, which requires a permission. We also use email functions which are tied in with the use of Apple's Photo app. To add reference images in Gallery, Artemis also needs access to Apple Photos. These permissions are all “internal”. Giving permissions does not compromise your security in any way and just lets Artemis use resources to give you the best user experience. We never have access to any of your data, unless you explicitly share it with us.

Location — this is required to geo-tag any images you take. This is essential for use with the Helios and Helios Live-View functionality in Artemis.
Why have my images and videos vanished from Gallery?
A few things to check first:

Does your iPhone or iPad have adequate storage space available? We recommend at least 20% free storage space.

Does your iCloud account have adequate storage space? If it is full, either purchase more space or remove as much data as you can to free up space.

Lack of storage is the #1 reason Artemis users have issues.

If you have plenty of storage space, you may have inadvertently changed a setting.

Open the Gallery Settings (the cog symbol on the left). Do you have Save Locally Stored Assets to iCloud Drive selected? If not, let's start here.

If you have adequate iCloud storage space, turn this on. If this was turned off and your images were backed up to iCloud, this is most likely the reason your images have disappeared. This might take a few minutes and an internet connection. If not, email us and we'll figure out what is going on.
Why should I have iCloud Backup activated?
This is the best option to protect all your data when using Artemis and required if you intend to use Artemis Studio for Mac. All your assets will be backed up in the Artemis Local Data folder. You can find this using the Files app on your device. This in turn will be backed up securely to iCloud.

Open the Artemis Gallery (bottom left), then tap the Settings cog. Turn Save Locally Stored Assets to iCloud Drive on.
Why can I see images or videos but not together?
In the Gallery, it is possible to view videos, images or both together. You can select this on the bottom left of the screen.
